The new and improved wakeboard boat. It's environmentally friendly, but in this case it is Pink Powered not Green. On August 26th the Pink Piston Paddlers (breast cancer survivors) were successful in pulling 12 year old Sidney Tilstra behind a dragon boat just off the Salmon Arm Wharf. Sidney got up on her kneeboard and then wake boarded behind the paddling power of the PPP's dragon boat. Holding on for up to a minute and going in and out of the wake gave the team the ultimate work out. The PPPs had 4 supporters on board out of the 21 members present. Will we do it again? You bet we will. We may even try for 2 minutes next year!!.

Our dragon boat experience is helping our healing:

It helps us regain control of our lives

it shows our families and friends we can live our lives the way we choose

It reminds us to make the most of every moment

It creates a new state of wellness in each of us

It demands the best of us both physically and mentally

It helps us overcome the loneliness of cancer

It creates a safety net in the event of a recurrence

It gives us pride in our accomplishments

It shows us we can undertake strenuous exercise without developing lymphedema

It enables us to move on with our lives

It encourages us to share our experience with others
